SBI and JR Kyushu Reach Basic Agreement on Financial App 'JQ BANK,' With Crypto Assets in View
- Four SBI entities (SBI Holdings, SBI Securities, SBI Shinsei Bank, SBI Neo Financial Platform) signed a basic agreement with JR Kyushu to co-develop 'JQ BANK,' aiming for a fiscal 2027 launch contingent on JR Kyushu securing a bank agency license under SBI Shinsei Bank.
- The app will be built on SBI Neo Financial Platform's FPaaS, layering asset-formation and investment features on top of BaaS, with plans to add crypto assets, stablecoin payments, insurance, FX, and AI agents alongside banking and brokerage services.
- Planned features tied to JR Kyushu's 'JRQ Cuepo' loyalty points include an auto-sweep yen deposit ('SBI Hyper Deposit') linked to brokerage buying power, point-based deposit bonuses, mortgage rate preferences, and 'JQ CARD' installment investing, with accumulated points usable to buy domestic stocks (including JR Kyushu shares) and mutual funds.
