FSC: 'Reviewing Introduction of a Market-Making Scheme for Virtual Assets'
The FSC is examining whether to introduce a virtual asset market-making system to improve efficiency and stability in the digital asset market.
The review is expected to proceed as part of the second-phase legislative process, since the current Virtual Asset User Protection Act prohibits market-making with no exceptions, risking classification as unfair trading (e.g., market manipulation).
The remarks were made by Yoo Young-jun, FSC Director-General for Digital Finance Policy, on September 28 at 'The Bridge Summit 2026' in Seoul, co-hosted by TV Chosun and Bridge34.
