Headquartered in Singapore, but Regulated Nowhere? Hyperliquid's 'Jurisdiction Controversy' -FT
The Financial Times reported on October 6 (local time) that Hyperliquid, a decentralized derivatives exchange, is headquartered in Singapore but not subject to oversight by local financial regulators.
The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) stated it was not aware that Hyperliquid is regulated by financial authorities in major jurisdictions.
The mismatch between Hyperliquid's corporate location and its actual regulatory status is fueling controversy over how DeFi platforms should fit into existing financial regulatory frameworks.
