Rep. Park Su-young: "Tax prep inadequate, need delay" ... NTS Chief: Limits exist in tracking peer-to-peer coin transactions

  • NTS Commissioner Lim Kwang-hyun admitted the agency has limited ability to trace individual-to-individual (wallet-to-wallet) crypto transactions ahead of the January digital asset tax rollout.
  • Rep. Park Su-young (People Power Party) argued at the October 13 National Assembly Strategy and Finance Committee audit that tax preparations are inadequate and implementation should be delayed further, citing lagging tax-system development at domestic exchanges and insufficient overseas transaction data.
  • The NTS pledged to expand international cooperation and cross-border information exchange to address gaps in tracking offshore and peer-to-peer crypto transactions.
