KB Kookmin Card to Verify AI Payment Agents, SBI to Pilot Korea-Japan Stablecoin Settlement
- KB Kookmin Card and SY Polaris agreed on September 29 to jointly pilot AI-agent payment-integration technology using the 'K-AP' payment-linkage standard.
- The pilot connects AI agents, online shopping platforms, payment modules, and card-issuer systems to test identity authentication, transaction verification, and system integration for autonomous AI purchasing.
- Separately, SBI Digitrust (SBI Group) is testing a cross-border model allowing Japanese users to pay at South Korean merchants via QR-code-based stablecoin payments.
