"Naver Given Special Favor in Law Revision Related to Dunamu Merger"... People Power Party Launches Allegations at National Audit
Rep. Park Dae-chul of the People Power Party questioned Lim Ki-geun, Minister of the Office for Government Policy Coordination, on October 13 at the National Policy Committee's National Assembly audit, focusing on the enforcement decree revision process for the Specific Financial Information Act.
The allegation centers on claims that Naver lobbied financial authorities to exclude joint penal provision punishment records from the disqualification criteria for major shareholders of virtual asset business operators.
Park argued the Regulatory Rationalization Committee subsequently recommended improvements aligned with Naver's request, raising suspicion of preferential treatment tied to the Dunamu merger.
