Finance Ministry: Aware of Both Pro and Con Views on Crypto Taxation, Will Ensure Thorough Discussion in National Assembly
- Cho Man-hui, Director General of the Tax and Customs Office at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, spoke at the Korea Tax Law Association's autumn conference on October 14 in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
- He said the government recognizes both the view that digital assets should be taxed as scheduled to improve tax equity with other income types (wage and business income) and concerns over tax infrastructure and potential capital flight overseas.
- He pledged to closely consider opinions raised at the day's discussion and to ensure sufficient review during the National Assembly's deliberations on crypto taxation.
