National Tax Service: "Strict investigation if tax evasion suspected in expense treatment of Bithumb VIP perks"

  • Deputy Commissioner Park Hae-young made the statement on October 22 at a National Assembly Planning and Finance Committee audit, responding to a question from lawmaker Kang Min-kook (People Power Party).
  • The issue concerns Bithumb's "Black Premium Membership," which grants benefits to clients whose monthly trading volume exceeds a certain threshold.
  • The NTS said it would investigate on a company-by-company basis if concrete suspicions of tax evasion or improper corporate expense processing related to these VIP perks are confirmed.
