DAXA Vice Chairman Kim Jae-jin: "Crypto Taxation Could Disadvantage Only Domestic Users"
Kim Jae-jin, Standing Vice Chairman of DAXA (Digital Asset eXchange Alliance), raised the concerns at a forum titled "Urgent Review of the Competitiveness of Korea's Digital Asset Market in the AI Era," held at the National Assembly Library on November 2.
Korea's virtual asset taxation scheme, originally designed in 2020, has seen its effective date delayed three times, yet its core content remains unchanged despite major shifts in the crypto market.
Kim warned that the current tax structure could create an imbalance, placing a heavier burden on domestic exchange users compared to those using overseas exchanges.
