Cousin of Cambodia’s Prime Minister Admits He Once Held a Stake in a Firm Tied to the KRW 4 Trillion Crypto Money Laundering Case
Hun To, a cousin of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, admitted through his lawyer that he previously held a 30% stake in Huione Pay, a Huione Group affiliate tied to allegations of KRW 4 trillion in crypto money laundering.
Huione Pay served as Huione Group’s banking arm, was sanctioned by the United States and the United Kingdom last year, and had its banking license revoked for regulatory noncompliance.
Hun To denied involvement, saying he never exercised management authority at Huione Pay and never made a cash contribution matching the stake.
