Industry alliance accelerating stablecoin adoption across Asia

On the Asia Digital Asset Policy Center

Stablecoins will only scale in Asia if they work across borders, and they will only work across borders if the rules are legible. Today an issuer in Seoul, a payments firm in Singapore and a bank in Hong Kong are each reading a different rulebook.

The Asia Digital Asset Policy Center gives our members a common reference: what each market asks of issuers, where reserves must sit, and who may distribute. Our news desk feeds it every day from local-language media across the region.

We will use it to bring members and policymakers into the same conversation, and to turn that conversation into concrete proposals like the letters in this section.

About

The Asia Stablecoin Alliance (ASA) is an industry network set up in 2025 by Kang Hee-chang and Bok Jin-sol of Four Pillars and Alex Lim (Lim Jong-gyu) of LayerZero. It describes itself as a research and exchange platform for stablecoin adoption across Asia, clear regulation and sound technical infrastructure.

ASA brings together builders, issuers, financial institutions, researchers and policymakers. It publishes research on stablecoins and tokenisation, runs a daily news desk covering Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and the Philippines, and issues a weekly ASA News digest through Four Pillars Research. It argues that Asia needs local-currency stablecoins built for its own platforms and rules rather than relying only on dollar coins.

ASA hosts the Asia Stablecoin Conference during Korea Blockchain Week. The first edition, in Seoul on 25 September 2025, drew more than 1,100 attendees across 17 sessions. The 2026 Seoul edition, held with Pharos and LayerZero, compares stablecoin and tokenisation rules market by market across Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Southeast Asia and the UAE, and is followed by a Singapore edition for institutional capital allocators.
