Sudden Death of Marketing Firm Employee Uncovers NT$20.1 Billion USDT Money-Laundering Platform — Taiwan Was Just One Branch
Taichung prosecutors indicted 30 defendants on September 23, led by a marketing company head surnamed Chang, for running a Taiwan branch of an overseas illicit payment/money-laundering network.
The operation allegedly laundered about NT$20.1 billion (roughly USD 650 million) in USDT through the platform referred to as 'NOW P.'
The case surfaced after the sudden death of an employee at the marketing firm triggered an investigation, exposing Taiwan as just one branch office of a larger cross-border laundering scheme.
